Springtime means more piglets, and lots of soaking up the sunshine!

Wonderfarm has been rocked by the cancellation of

Wonderfarm has been rocked by the cancellation of a federally-funded program called Local Food Purchase Assistance (LFPA). Through LFPA, last year I was guaranteed I’d have buyers for all the pork I could produce. I grew my heard of pigs and hoped this would be a big growth year for the farm. A few weeks ago, the program was cancelled. Wonderfarm will have around four tons of pork products harvested and processed this year, but suddenly no guaranteed buyer for it.

I’m asking for your help: yes, I’d love you to purchase some pork, but I’d also love the LFPA program to be reinstated so my pork can get to folks facing food scarcity. Good food shouldn’t only be available to those who can afford it. Please write your state reps and ask them to fund LFPA at the state level, so quality food from small farms like Wonderfarm can keep reaching folks who have the least access to it.
